A recovery phrase is the wallet, not a password for it. Write it down offline, store it away from the device it belongs to, and test that a restore actually works before it matters. Never type it into a website, an email, a photograph or a chat window, including one with someone claiming to be support. No legitimate wallet or exchange will ever ask for it.
